About Balham Newsie

We keep you up-to-date with all the latest Balham news and events by curating and sharing the most relevant stories through our website and over on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages. We feature content from local newspapers, independent bloggers, schools, community groups, charities, sports teams, neighbourhood and business associations. We want to create a place where all the voices of Balham can be heard and help to connect the community.

Why Balham Newsie?

Balham Newsie is part of the Newsie hyperlocal network of sites. Newsie was formerly known as Daily PRSS, until rebranding in September 2019, which led to all local sites under it (such as Balham Daily PRSS) also changing their name to Newsie.

How does the website work?

We curate the most credible resources on the web. Provider feeds are showcased in an easy-to-read format that streams live, with the latest stories appearing first, linking to the original source of each article.

I’m holding an event in Balham. Can you post something about it?

Of course! Go to bit.ly/balhamwhatson to submit your event and we’ll give you a shout-out on either Twitter or Instagram Stories. Don’t forget to add start and end times, date, location, details and an image, or else it won’t be accepted on the site. If it’s a regular event (e.g. same day / time every week), then you’ll only need to submit it once – please specify in the notes and we can set it to auto-repeat.

I want to send you a press release. What do you need?

If you wish to submit your press release for consideration on our site, please email info@localnewsie.co.uk with 300-500 words – don’t forget to include relevant links/social media details, contact details, and a few good quality photos (or a video if you have one).

How do I submit my blog for your website?

To feature your local blog or website on Balham Newsie, email the RSS feed or URL to info@localnewsie.co.uk for consideration.

How do you create revenue for the site?

We work with trusted local businesses – see our Advertising & Partnership page for more details.
